39 Star flag from 1890 made of fine silk with treadle sewn edges. Three initials are hand sewn to the top left corner. Silk was very expensive back then and only the wealthy could afford a flag like this. Five States were added to the Union at one time on July 4th 1890 making the 39 Star Flag instantly obsolete.
