Antique 38 Star Flag with rare star arrangement. It has four vertical rows of stars that are up-side-down and two rows of stars that are right side up. The main feature of this rare flag is the oval medallion portrait of George Washington. It is somewhat faded but still an important and rare flag, only a few examples exist. The flag is printed on cotton. Circa 1877 to 1890 Most likely made for the Centennial celebrations held in 1876.
