A most incredible, rare and beautiful large 13 Star Flag from The civil War Era. The flag is made entirely of wool. Hand cut and sewn stars double applique stars in an unusual star arrangement, three vertical stars on the left & right with six stars arranged in a circle with one star in the center. The wool canton is made from three panels also a sign of Civil War construction with fabric shortages in the north & south. A hand sewn button hole grommet can be seen top left corner. Canvas hoist.
