Great looking Civil War era 36 Star Flag with the original stick. Made by stenciling on to a starched linen/gauze fabric. Man developed stenciling in the 1400’s. Beautiful stars that look like they are tilted are almost up-side-down. The 36th State was voted into the Union on October 31, 1864 Flag makers would have stopped making 35 star flags and started making 36 star flags even though the 36th Star Flag would not be official till July 4th 1865.
