Antique 37 Star American Flag / SOLD

Antique 37 Star American Flag. Dates to March 1, 1867 and used to July 3rd 1876. Andrew Johnson was President. Beautiful flag made of silk with sewn edges. The stars are arranged in a alternating up side down position. Silk was very expensive back then so only a very wealthy person or the military / government would have been able to afford a impressive flag like this. This was most likely used by the military as citizens really didn’t own flags like we do today.
