1899 Silk Portrait of George Washington this year celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the death of George Washington. This was a day and year of great celebration and respect given and shown to George all across the country as he was still held in very high regard and reverence as The Father of Our Country unlike today where he is scorned in most of the university’s across the country and most people under 30 do not really know who he is.
