1826 Reverse Glass Painting John Adams
A very rare reverse glass mourning portrait of President John Adams. John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both died on July 4, 1826. This is believed to be a mourning piece to commemorate his death in 1826. Commissioned by the world famous Borghese Gallery in Italy who since the 1500’s have sold art to the reigning Pope’s in the Vatican. Sold in the United States by Hall House in New York. Untouched in its original frame.
