A very rare entirely hand sewn silk flag by Betsy Ross Grand daughter. She made a number of these flags to sell to help finance the restoration of the Betsy Ross home. However most very not signed. This one is signed in her hand. On the hoist is written in period ink – “First flag made 1777 by Betsy Ross. This copy of the original flag made 1903 by Rachel Allbright aged 90 yrs. 8 mo. Grand daughter of Betsy Ross. The flag is entirely made of hand cut and finely stitched silk. It has fading consistent with a hand made silk flag that is 107 years old.
