This is a authentic very rare Brown Brothers photograph of Sam Houston which was the art used to construct the world famous bronze statue of Sam Houston in Houston Texas by Cerracchio in 1925. The silver gelatin photo is circa 1900-1920 Cerracchio’s best-known sculpture is the 40 foot bronze equestrian figure of Sam Houston at the entrance to Hermann Park. The statue cost $75,000 when it was put in place in 1925.
