1876 Centennial Parade Sash
1876 Centennial Sash. Very rare elaborately made parade sash for the American Centennial held in 1876. The sash is made of velvet with elaborate metal bullion fringe and hand sewn metal bullion stars. It has a hand sewn Civil War hat cockade sewn to the sash. I have seen other 1876 parade sash’s over the last 25 years but I have never seen one of this quality and elaborate construction. Everything about it is incredible, the stars are a work of art unto themselves. It was most likely made for a VIP to wear such as a General, Senator or Governor. Can be hung vertical or horizontally. Circa 1876
