An extremely rare theorem from the 1860’s with a eagle and flag resting on a Federal Shield with flowers. Theorem’s are usually much smaller and usually are of fruit or flowers. It is very rare to find a theorem with a patriotic theme. Painted with unusual heavy build up of paint to create feathers on the eagle and petals on the flowers. Was found with a civil war flag.
