Antique hand turned and painted wood torch Christmas ornament with brass ornamentation to portray a lighted torch. Circa 1876. The torch from the Statue of Liberty was on display at the Centennial held in 1876 to raise funds to build the base for her to stand on in NY harbor. This wood torch symbolizes the torch of Liberty.
