Description
Rare authentic antique bronze plaque in the shape of a Federal Shield. (see photo) It is presumed that these shields were nailed to a “Memory Tree” at The Centennial in 1876 and date to that era or earlier. Judging by the age, patina & construction of the shield it is possible they could be much earlier and could date to possibly the 25th in 1801, the 50th in 1826 or 75th Anniversary in 1851 of The signing. In any event they are very rare and a great historical piece of Americana. See all five listed.
