Rare Dry Plate Glass Negative of President John Adams

Antique dry plate glass negative taken of a painting of our second President John Adams who was also our first Vice-President under George Washington. Dry plate glass negatives first appeared in the early 1870’s. Most photographers were using the wet plate process up to that point. All photographers converted all of their wet plate glass negatives by photographing them using the dry plate method which was must easier, faster & cheaper. This dry plate negative was mostly likely taken of a early wet plate negative of the same image. Any antique image of our Founding Fathers is rare as is this glass negative. The image is crystal clear. There is a mended crack as you can see in my photo.
