General John Freemont / Dayton Presidential Campaign Ribbon

Rare fancy and elaborate Presidential Campaign ribbon for John C. Freemont who ran for President in the election of 1856. Freemont was also a famous General of the era and also the first Territory of California and a great explorer. The ribbon has a very nice rosette with a period celluloid image of the great man.
